2. How can PRINTnet provide the service for free? Most printing companies in the UK have a sales team
who are paid a really high rate of commission and bonuses for the orders that they bring in.
Because we are bypassing the sales team (and hence removing the need to pay them
commission), the printing company is able to give us a discount off their normal
prices. Part of this discount is passed on to you (meaning you get an excellent
price) and part of the discount is also passed on to us. So it's a genuine
win-win-win situation for the print company, for you, and also for us!
3. Are PRINTnet
totally independent? YES - we have absolutely no connection with any
printing company, leaving us completely free to recommend any printing company
that we think is best for your particular job.
4. How are PRINTnet able to get such good prices? (a) We have
numerous contacts in the printing industry that we are in touch with on a daily
basis. We know who is busy and who is not. Usually when a printing company is
not very busy they will do work cheaper in order to keep their machines running.
We find out which companies aren't busy at a particular time, in order to get
you the lowest price.
(b) Every
printing company has different types of machines. Machines that are efficient
for one printing job are not necessarily efficient for another job. We will
choose the most appropriate printing company with the most appropriate machines
for your particular job.
(c) When
placing a printing job, we negotiate with several different companies at the
same time, in order to get them to come down to the lowest possible price for
you.
5. Are there any 'extras' or hidden costs? Absolutely not. The price we quote is the
price you pay.
6. What happens after we've received the quote? Pretty
much nothing, until you decide whether to go ahead or not. Unlike some pushy companies, we
will not constantly bombard you with high-pressure sales calls and junk emails.
We'll simply wait until you've decided whether you want to use our services.
7. How long is the quote valid for?
Our quotes are valid for 2 calendar months from the
date of quotation.

What happens if we do decide to go ahead with the work? You can
either provide the artwork yourself using a whole range of formats (visit the
Technical Advice page for details). Alternatively, we can discuss doing the
design work for you, using our professional in-house design team. Incidentally,
our prices for graphic design are very competitive, so it's worth letting us
quote for you, even if you end up deciding to do the design work yourself.
9.
Do we have to pay up front for the printing? No. We
don't ask our established customers for any payment until they have received the
finished printed materials from us. We are happy to also offer new customers the
same free credit facilities, subject to a credit check and a few other standard
terms and conditions.

Do PRINTnet only use UK printers? YES. We only use printing companies that
are based in the UK. This is a very important point because most of the
companies that offer a similar service to us are only able to offer low prices
because they use foreign printing companies, often employing very low paid
workers in third world sweatshops. We ONLY USE BRITISH PRINT COMPANIES that we
have pre-checked for ethical and environmental considerations.

What about Environmental Issues? We guarantee that ALL paper used is
certified as ethically sourced (see the Technical
Advice page for details) or recycled paper when it is requested by the
customer.

Do PRINTnet offer any other support?
Of course we do! We don't just dump you with a printing company and leave you to get
on with things. We will manage the entire process for you, including arranging
proofs and ensuring you are happy with them before printing begins, solving any
technical problems that may arise, making sure everything goes to plan and that
your deadlines are met. We also offer unlimited free technical advice before and
during the process.
We
will take away the headaches of having to get quotes and deal with a printing
